If you are serious about racing then the factory electronic steering damper must be replaced too. 

However, disconnecting the factory damper from the bike’s main harness will instantly result in the FI light coming on (which could mask some serious bike/engine-related faults). 

This is where the SD Eliminator comes in handy – just plug it into the factory damper’s connector and you’re ready to go!
